Back in the day when I was a student living in Leeds I had a fairly hot but tatty Riley Elf. This was well before the internet -  1982 ish.

I remember reading David Vizzard's book 'how to modify your mini' also buying the magazines to order parts from e.g. Cars and Car Conversions.

On one occasion I drove across the Pennines in terrible weather to what at that time was one of the largest, if not the largest, store. I think I was buying a new intake manifold.

I'm guessing the shop was in Lancashire somewhere.

Does anyone remember it? It was quite a large unit. For me it was a proper Aladdins cave.

There were a few that way. As there were also one or two in Leeds..

most of the tuners in that dark part of the world are no longer there.

Yes that's the one!

I remember the town name of Padiham!

Thanks for putting that one to rest.

April 1969 saw Mini Sport move into its first dedicated premises at 15 Church St. Padiham.

It's been based in the town ever since:-

Great that the business is alive and well.

Obviously they are still very well known - Rather dimly I hadn't made the connection.

I shall have to see if I can go and revisit after all these years...

Surprising as their attitude has not changed.
