It'll be next week I'm afraid.

I still need to prepare spray out cards to test how many effect coats will be required so I can work out the ratio of colour coat to effect coat and order the correct amount.

My supplier is mainland based to only deliver once a week so I won't be able to get it this week.

Besides that, I'm away Friday and Monday.

Still plenty of prep and sealing up to do though in the meantime.

Maybe I'll show the spray out cards?

Cheers.

Ben

Before I go to the next stage, I want to get these trial fitted

Anyone ever done them before?

No booklet luke, just a card thanking for the purchase.
I'm pretty sure of how they go, just hoped that someone might have fitted them to their own car and could advise.
I'll have a better look tomorrow qs it was last knockings when I got them out today.

Cheers

Ah the listing on the site said they came with fitting instructions, I must admit I didn't raid through the box when I got them I just checked the one or so arch, I could drop them a message and see if they have any to hand?

That's OK luke.
Not to worry, I'll have a better look tomorrow.
There is a bag of fixing that ate basically hinges, looks like the longer end bonds to the arch and the shorter end with a hole bolts through the body.

I'll do a write up as I go

Cheers.

On to the arches then.

First thing was to scour the Internet for photos of minis fitted with these arches to get an idea of where they go.

After that, I positioned each arch using tape to hold them in place

And then after double checking with luke and a guy from carbon weezel, I cut out a piece to fit around the front seams and did some minor trimming to get them to sit right.

And then taped them all back to the car to check again

Once happy, I bonded the hinged brackets to the arches

Then as I don't think the bond to the steel will be strong enough, I left them over night and added more adhesive to encase the brackets as the glue will bond well to the raw carbon

After 24 hours, they should be ready to offer up again and drill the body to bolt them on.

Now back to flatting primer..

Cheers
Ben

I was wondering why they weren't just right angled brackets.
