Reassembly has began now

First thing is into the bay and up on stands

Then I ran the brake and fuel lines

Then the steering rack

USnKiJT.jpg

Then got out the don't subframe and components

I like to fit the top arms and suspension first

And then fit the frame

MMFORbY.jpg

And then build up the rest on the car

I am missing a couple of small parts so had to stop on the front so I got the rear frame fitted instead

Looking good, especially those Alloy Front Hubs.
I don’t know why but I thought you were just doing the body restoration..
What’s happening with the arches?

Thanks

Daz

Looking good Ben, really enjoying the photos of each stage and step by step.

I forgot to ask how is/was the boot lid or did you source out another I remember you saying you'd had issues with them before.

What’s happening with the arches?

I believe Ben want's to wait till the wheels are on to look at the arches again, going back from what he mentioned on page 10 I think it was.

The bootlid supplied was unsuitable so another was sourced and its much better

You are right about the arches luke, they will be sorted out right at the end

Cheers

Ah OK I only thought earlier when I caught glimpse of the boot lid I had wish I had sent that in the more I think about it but hey ho.

I guess I really should start to think about bits for when it returns back to me .

Is this some sort of RWD build?  or did you just assemble the hubs with the ends of the shafts so you can put wheels on it for now

reason for checking is I like those hubs are they a lot lighter and who makes them?

I think they are KAD alloy hubs going by the brakes.

I'm not going to be fully rebuilding this one hence the cv joint being fitted to the hub so it cam roll

Other than getting it rolling, I shall be installing a headlining, carpet set and the glass

Cheers

Yeah I thought that might be the case, it's what I did on mine as well so there's no shafts flapping about

so is there a lot of weight saving on the hubs or is it more of a cosmetic thing / to fit the better calipers

scrap that I found them online, 25% less weight and bearings pre fitted which is a definite bonus.. hmm definitely a consideration

I finished bolting in the rear frame but then realised that I hadn't ordered the pins for the handbrake quadrants so that's had to stop there.

Whilst I wait for parts, I decided to start on the interior

I gave the floor a wipe down

OfWpxpO.jpg

And applied some anti drum pads
