What is the purpose of floor bungs what do they do?

When the shells are produced, they are coated in the factory using a process called rotodipping.
These holes are punched out during manufacture so that when the shells have been dipped the excess coating can drain out.
The steel bungs are then fitted to seal up the holes prior to the antidrum being applied over the top.

Some people replace with rubber bungs, others plate the holes up entirely. I like the originality of these steel bungs personally.

It's a common misconception that the bungs are there to be removed to drain out water if necessary..

Is Antidrum a soundproofing coating?

Not particually.

It is for the purpose of taking the drum out of larger panels

Finally some progress on this one.

I've been waiting on my paint supplier to deliver the materials for the next stage.

I out the shell into the booth and applied some more primer to some areas where I'd gone through and where additional rectifications were required

Then sheeted up ready to paint the underside

And then applied tinted underbody coatings followed by clear coat.

Plan tomorrow is to paint the inside of the shell, the engine compartment and the boot.

There is lots to do prior though so hopefully time will allow.

Cheers

The photos and the textured finished don't do the colour justice.i prepared some spray out cards and photographed those.

These also don't do it justice but you can see how different it looks in different lights

Think I made the right choice there Ben to go with the colour I chose all those years ago and not flick it to the alternative.
