When the shells are produced, they are coated in the factory using a process called rotodipping. What is the purpose of floor bungs what do they do?
These holes are punched out during manufacture so that when the shells have been dipped the excess coating can drain out.
The steel bungs are then fitted to seal up the holes prior to the antidrum being applied over the top.
Some people replace with rubber bungs, others plate the holes up entirely. I like the originality of these steel bungs personally.
It's a common misconception that the bungs are there to be removed to drain out water if necessary..
Is Antidrum a soundproofing coating?
