Putting a 1967 Countryman back on the road but it does not have any front seat belts. There are mounting points top of pillar and bottom near the door. Can I fit inertia belts or have to stay with static belts. If have to stay static no problem just point me in right direction.. Thanks

Pretty sure you could fit these inertia reel belts.

As above, or the securon 500. The reel and one end of the lap belt secure to the same mounting point. See link to instructions

I've got Securon (or very similar) inertia seat belts in my 1967 Saloon (Manufactured Nov 1966), I bought them new from Mini spares, I know they aren't period, but I didn't want to mess with old worn out second hand ones at the time, which was what I took out.
This was many years ago, and the current ones say not suitable for Mk1, and are branded Minispares. They look very similar to mine, maybe someone can shed some light?

I can't vouch for the eBay ones, they seem too cheap?

I need to fit some inertia reel belts to my 62 Countryman as well, does anyone have a picture of the reel mounting? I have a collection of brackets left over from belt installations in other cars, but a pic would help. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room for the reel assembly down there. Thanks, John

Thanks for all advice. Have decided to with static belts as the mechanism would be in the way when getting in the back.

I fitted the reel to the bottom mounting when replacing the static belts in the pickup I had years ago. It's on the to-do list for my van. It just about fits with the standard seats but was well worth it - no more messing around with yards of webbing and adjusting them because you've got a thick jumper on. Also nice to be able to lean forward when pulling out of blind junctions. Apart from originality there's nothing better about the static belts.
