The only 1100 special colours were metallic pink & silver as far as I'm aware.
Any piccies? Someone might recognise the colour to tell if it even existed at the time.

That was the UK anniversary Special that was produced after the Belgian built 1100 special. These came in a number of colours.
I will see is I can find the brochure.

A friend of mine imported quite a few (15-20) of these.
All of the ones he brought in had a central binnacle, which made the conversion, to RHD, straightforward.
At the time, he paid £50 a throw to have them converted and sold them on for a tidy profit.

I have a blue one at the moment, I think they are a very nice car and something a bit different, and goes very well with the 1098 -

My 1980 Seneffe BL Mini Special 1098 was silver metallic with vinyl roof before I decided to spray it Colorado Red (RD2) with black roof.

Interesting, a whole new Mini I didn't know existed.
What are they like on the inside? They do look like the anniversary specials, but I'm also wondering if it has anything to do with not making Clubmans

Interior is velour, same as a UK clubman of the same age, black in my blue car. Centre speedo with a little wooden facia panel on it.

Had a look at the French brochure, it showed a GT style 3 clock dash, so I guess there were some revisions.

.... it's easy to get skis in a Mini with reclining seats.
...but it's more fun to put them in the boot of one with a rotadip hole.

I have a Belgian built Mini Special. From the chassis plate it was built in 1979 but first registered in the UK in 1981. There was no sign of a centre console, does have the centre clocks with a Wood and Pickett type wood dashboard. It was silver with a black vinyl roof originally, when I got it someone had ripped the vinyl off and painted black and white squares with a knife and fork!.
Did your friend keep a record of the chassis numbers he converted, be interesting to know if mine was one.

Bad description, on my part, I meant that the speedo was central, as opposed to a "handed" dash.
Unfortunately, I lost touch with him many years ago, but I doubt he would've kept records.

Hello
We had a Special in the family around 1995, unfortunately we had to sell it. But I wrote down the chassis number in my Haynes manual. I tried to search the car at the local offices without success. Now I realize that I probably wrote the VIN wrong.
Could be the last letter 'A' instead of '4' ? I believe these models produced in Belgium. In this case it should be 'B' ?
The car was a LHD european model
