Hi guys , I recently changed my 1380cc to electronic ignition, it’s early days but so far it’s been perfect , only problem is that the tachometer doesn’t work with the electronic ignition , does anyone know of a product that can convert it to work or maybe a company that can do the job , I was quoted £130 for it but that’s a little steep for me atm . For a little info , it’s a smiths 3 clock design similar if not identical to the ones from the wooden dashboard / 1275gt

Take a look at the Gentleman's Guide to Smiths Tachometers here:

There are two basic types that are wired up differently.

I had the same couple of months ago.
David at wired by Wilson gave me the name of a company. Spyda? And it was about 130 quid as well. So I bought a new tacho for the same.

Spyida do a conversion board for about £50, used one myself and it's not too difficult to set up

Because mine is the standard 3 gauge 1275gt style rev counter I don’t think I can go and buy one of the shelf to suit. The spyida one looks the most promising and cost effective solution . Thanks for the help guys , really appreciate it

I’m a couple years late but I just ran into the same issue. I have a 1275 and added an ignition-only ECU and, since deleting the coil, I’ve broken the connection to my tach. Do y’all remember what you did to fix your issue?
