Does that stop the you tube adverts? Surely they’re embedded in the video stream?

That’s impressive, I always thought it could only stop
pop up ads. I’ll check it out later. To be fair though, you get the chance to ‘skip ads’ in a lot of cases.

I've only got Adblock + installed and I've never been bothered by ads. You get the occasional site refusing access because of the blocker but I can live with that.
And it's free

You can’t blame them, it’s basically theft.

If you're on Android use vanced instead of the official YouTube app
you sound like a very wise man..! so much rubbish on all the channels and most of it continually repeated. you tube is my favourite but the ads drive ya mad.I don't do any paid TV (apart from the Beeb) so it's gonna be a while before I watch it!

I like all three of the original team but it seems to be a bit of a weak take on Clarkson farm so far. Hammond doesn't have his presence. It may get better

because they don't have advertising which removes/reduces conflicts of interest when making programming. The commercial channels are more likely to help reduce the overall cost of the license fee.The BBC own a lot of commercial TV channels but still charge a TV licence fee, WHY ?
As far as I'm concerned the BBC is a worthwhile investment, and extremely important part of our democracy, which is going down the pan due to attacks from all sides which means that it is now not properly fulfilling its duty to the public in holding the government and other organisations to account which commercial interests will get in the way of.
The government has reduced the BBC's, and many other public services, funding and then changed the rhetoric to make the BBC the enemy. Ask yourself why?!

The BBC’s annual report revealed Gary Lineker earned £1.36m in 2020/21 from licence payers money.....will he be able to manage with the pay cut from £1.75m while the rest of us including OAP's have to pay to support his lifestyle even if we only choose to watch other subscription or paid by advertising channels and don't want the BBC's often bias output....
