With the introduction of E10 fuel I thought I'd better take a few precautions to protect my cars so I sent for a couple of 250ml bottles of Miller VSPe Power Plus, one for the Mini and one for the Commer. Now looking at the dosage instructions one 250ml bottle will treat 50 litres of fuel (that's one tank for the Commer) and at £13 a pop it's going to get expensive to fill up. I had a look around and found that the  500 ml bottle will treat ten 50 litre tanks which is more like what I was expecting, but why the big difference in dosage, it's the same stuff after all. Even the Millers Oil site has the same information. Very confused, I think I'll be using the 1ml of additive to 1 litre of fuel that the 500 ml bottle recommends.

I use Liqui Moly or Castrol Valve Master

You get more bang for your buck, and my Midget runs very well.

On the subject of additives
I'm currently running Super u leaded in my mini but on some weekend runs I can't always guarantee super unleaded.

Does anyone know where I can get an ethanol/water remover or a way to remove the water/ethanol mix from the tank?

Does Millers VSPE or Valvemaster do this?

Sorry for the hijack but it is related

Thanks guys

Cal

If you are prepared to go to a little trouble and prepare in advance, you can separate the Ethanol from the Petrol quite easily at home.

Someone on the forum (I sincerely appologise, I can't recall who) posted this short clip showing how to do this.

Yup Valve Master and Liquid Moly both work well, I chose the Millers stuff because it was recommended on here but couldn't understand why the big difference in dosage recommendation between the 250ml bottle and 500ml bottle O_O

If you look at the Safety Data Sheets you'll see that the mix is much more dilute in the 250ml bottle
