Price: £10,000
Location: Ruislip, West London
Description:-
This car was bought (I think fourteen years ago) by a good friend of mine as a project.
He totally dismantled the car, cut out all the rust, welded in new panels and resprayed the car.
There are some parts which we already know are missing:-
One of the rear displacers is missing.
The heater box is missing.
It has taken me a couple of months to photograph everything. I will starting adding photos here.
The is an original Cooper, but not a Cooper S.
The engine is a factory replacement, but not the original.
The paint is the original correct red colour but painted with twin pack. The roof is base coat and twin pack lacquer.
The transmission tunnel is the "wrong" one because it's a mark 3 floorpan bought in 2006 from SC Parts. At that time you couldn't get mark 2 floor pans.
The shell was painted in 2013 / 2014.
This car needs no bodywork nor painting whatsoever. However (obviously) it needs reassembly and some parts will need to be purchased or whatever.
Essentially whatever is in the photos is included.
The chassis and engine numbers have been checked, I will post the exact details of who checked it later on (I think it was someone on a Cooper register, via a friend).
This will basically suit someone who wants a project, wants a car built their way, but doesn't want to get involved in bodywork. Also there is the advantage of being able to check a bare shell to be able to verify that it is as good as I say (and it is).
