Is there a reason why Rover ou BL didn't use these rubber stops on the dry setup ???

If they are so much better then surely they would have used them, do they allow the arms / cones etc to rise up too far ??

I can only guess here that it was as a result of different committees that the frame vs arm mounted stops came about. From my own checks here, when either style of stop is fitted, the arms have the same amount of movement and in any case, both sets ups have been designed such that it won't cause further issues - with stock suspension arms - if the stops (Compression and rebound) are not fitted (eg, the rubber breaks off all together) other than an awful bang when at the extremes of travel.

If I need to cut down the C-AJJ4007 bump stops to maintain current ride height, will that compromise compression/rebound characteristics? My thought is probably not anything that I would notice.

Cutting them down is not something I've had to do so uncharted waters for me. I don't think it will change their characteristics but loosing the top thicker section may lead to them splitting over time, so if you do, I'd suggest keeping a regular eye on them.

Doesn’t appear that installing the bump stops will work for me. Without doing the measurement, the lower diameter of the Pro-Tech shocks that I am using is large enough that it will foul the mounting brackets/rubber of the bump stops. To quote General McAuliffe at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, “Nuts”.

What's the OD of the Pro-Tech Shocks ? I currently run some fairly big ones, but have fitted some very big shocks in there.

Have you got the spacer between the Shock and the Upper Arm ?

Interested to know this as I have a set of hydro bump stops ready to fit, and I'm planning on getting Pro-Tech shocks too. Although I can spin up spacers if needed to space the shock out so it's not a big problem really.
