Hi folks,

 

I just wanted to put up a post to recommend Derek Wadsworth who runs Autopride Classic Cars near Guildford who I found online to do some bodywork on my '92 mini city.

 

It needed 2 full floor pans, jacking points and outer sills, new cross member, half boot floor, new rear valance and closing panels, rear subframe panel, outer door step panels, he also removed old and fitted a new rear subframe transferring the old parts and adding new brake lines, new cones and shocks, and welded up some more rust on the back seat.

 

I bought all the panels and parts and sent them to him and he was very quick and very reasonably priced for excellent workmanship and he sends you pics throughout the job - just over 2k for his labour and it took him a week and a half.

 

I am in no way associated with Derek apart from being a very satisfied paying customer!   I found that many classic mini bodywork garages had long waiting lists and finding Derek was great for me, I will definitely be using him in the future!

 

His website looks a bit dated but he is top notch!

Now for the proof in the pudding... Fitting the doors and building it up so it's straight and true

All fitted and working nicely, he did one side at a time leaving the tunnel in place to help keep it straight and true, whether it started straight and true after the multitudes of previous bodge job bodywork is a different kettle of poisson…
