I would,also add that hammerite is not as good as i used to be...
I may also add that if you have had the subframes blasted give the frames a once over with some sand paper/scotchbrite to give the surface a chance of sticking to the metal..
Blow it over properly with compressed air and makemsure no blasting material or sanding dust gets in there...
Like with bodywork.. all in the time spent preparing....
I would add waxoil after it has been painted for some months, allowing the paint time to dry.. before being taken on the road..to repel water and protect.

The as blasted finish should be the best finish you can get for paint adhesion,provided it is not dusty.Wash it down with panel wipe.Steve..

yes I was going to go over it with sandpaper maybe 800 grit or higher

I also thought that the sandblast was enough for primer/paint adhesion

Would say depends what meda was used to blast it...
I have seen some horendous finishes, but also seen some great work....
