does anyone have any info on marc bolans mini ? was it a cooper ? colour?

1977: T-Rex singer killed in car smash
Pop star Marc Bolan has been killed in a car crash in south-west London.
The 29-year-old former T-Rex singer was killed instantly when his car being driven by his girlfriend, Gloria Jones, left the road and hit a tree in Barnes.

Bolan died on September 16th 1977, two weeks before his 30th birthday. He was a passenger in a purple Mini 1275 GT (number plate FOX 661L) driven by Gloria as they headed home from a drinking club and a restaurant.

a purple mini ???? i always thought it was a tulip black 1275 GT .

do you think tulip black is another word for purple ???

well "black tulip" is an official mini colour. "purple" is not

EDIT: well OK, it's listed on the paint code site in the purple section. paint code KMA (BLVC23)

Well, the rac and dvla both say it doesn't exist anylonger on their vehicle check stuff. :'(

nice choice of car though, i feel like im doing my bit for t-rex in driving one, or is that a little backwards??
the remaining member probably hates them, and according to Mr Isigonis the clubman is meant to be a safer shape than the roundnose!

my grandad said he can remeber something on the news, that some of his "fans" took loads of the bis of what was remaining of the mini.

so there probably wasnt much left anyway
