Top job lads.
Will they let Mav wear shoes when he grows up ? Is he too much of a liability with the laces ?
Great to see the Mokes in their natural environment.

For someone who has driven his Mini only 27 miles in 6 months, I can’t imagine a couple of thousand across a desert!

Must be nice to live in a country with so much space.

4X asked about miles covered. So far in the past 6 days, we have done about 1700 miles (2700 ish km) and we still have around a week to go yet.
Today’s a ‘rest day’ now we are at Birdsville, though we kinda got that out of the way yesterday as we got in to town around 9, had a great breakfast at the Bakery ( that only reopened a couple of weeks ago) sorted a cabin, had a tub, looked at the mess,,,,, eerrrr,,, load in the back of the Mokes before adjourning to the Pub for rehydration and catch up with other fellow travellers, many any of their stories, while quite different to ours have been magic to listen to, though they all wanted to hear our ‘story’.
Today, we’re heading out to Big Red - the largest sand dune of the Simpson Desert, we’ll see how it looks and may even have a crack at it, though conditions vary so much from day to day on the Dunes, so we may not get a ‘look in’.

If you get a chance- could you take a pic of a route map? How are you navigating?
I am actually running a map app that also logs (when I remember to set it). I’ll upload a screenshot when I get home.

So today's effort at Big Red,,,,,
We walked it first - for our morning work out and to see how it looked, it wasn't at all promising. The sand was quite OK, but somewhat soft, though deeply rutted, some holes and also a nice set of stairs cut in,,,,,, Thanks !
Jack was first up, and on his 5th attempt, he got there !
Good work !
Well, I thought I'd give it a go, up on the first try
In all fairness, I had done it before along with whole deserts of dune, though considerable smaller than this monster.
