The alloy calipers and the metro calipers are basically equal in performance, they use the same brake pads. the alloy 4 pots are much lighter though, an look all nice an shiny.

the metro brakes need the twin pipe conversion on the hoses. if u want to save weight then obviously the alloy ones but to be honest the metro ones are good for far less money. make sure u buy good quality pads though as they can make or brake the effectivness. avoid EBC IMHO.

Thanks for the feed back its really informative anyone else using or done a brake conversion??
so are we saying not much point in forking out for the expensive alloys calipers??
just get some decent discs and pads and stick with the origional metro 4pot calipers, making sure i get the correct brake line to them?
I will have for sale two brand new goodrich braded hoses by the sound of it anyone interested....

most people go for the alloy ones to use in conjunction with 10" wheels. so i would go for the metro ones with good pads mate
