My question would be is"what did you ask for? 9 teeth or 11 teeth or a starter for XYZ year mini?".If they have sent the wrong type you asked for they should replace it correctly. If they have sent it based on XYZ type of car it may be more of a problem.Even modern VIN sourced parts are not fallible.Steve.

look on the minispares site. I ordered a powerlite pre-engaged starter. Neither me or minispares mentioned how many teeth were involved.

There is only one possible one to buy.

Giving the year of your mini (1965) is a bit meaningless when you’re building one to your own spec. ..

The high torque one pictured has been used on THAT flywheel. The other one probably has too.

I fully agree with this owning several "bitsa" modified cars.Even knowing what you want is now no use as the first question is"What's the reg?".Good luck resolving this,Steve..

gxe1001/1005 is for  pre engaged  ring gear 129 teeth, gxe1000/1004 is for the inertia ring gear 107teeth, they do state they are for the intended replacement, I have the 1004race on my clubman that is direct replacement and have no trouble with it
