Hi all,

Was looking for something slightly different for the interior of my rebuild project, and spotted some pics of the Innocenti two-spoke steering wheel with two column stalks on the same side.

Does anyone have any info on this style column and it's switches and cowling. Would the whole column be needed as a complete assembly, or could the switches and cowling be fitted to a 90's column? Is there a ignition keyswitch / steering lock on the column, and again would a 90's one be compatible?

Thanks folks.

70ies Inno steering wheels are usually 3-spoke "Hellebore" and they are expensive if you manage to get one. The column: if it was an Export Cooper 1300 it has a steering lock, if pre-export it doesnt. The column stalk switches are good looking and flimsy - they easily break at their base. The cowling for pre-export  is rare and won't fit straigth onto a 90ies column. All these items are rare and expensive.

Would the whole column be needed as a complete assembly, or could the switches and cowling be fitted to a 90's column?

Rather not - maybe with some fettling. But I doubt. I.e. a complete column is required

Is there a ignition keyswitch / steering lock on the column, and again would a 90's one be compatible?

See above

Thanks folks.

I've been keeping an eye on Innocenti parts in Italy the last few months, places to look are facebook marketplace (target Milan or Rome with a big radius), kijiji.it and subito.it

Google translate actually does a fabulous job to Italian as long as you use full sentences. Single words are often mistranslated. I've seen plenty of those steering wheels (Volante) for 200-300 euros, but I have yet to see any steering columns/covers/switches.

'ricambi' is the word for parts, that'll get you various part collection ads such as this massive one: https://www.subito.i...e-377719825.htm

Shoot them a message there using google translate and they're usually very friendly and helpful.
