Does anyone know where you can get the Bosch wiper blade adaptors to fit the old style bayonet arms?  They used to come with the wipers but now you only get the adaptors for the hook type arms.

I could fit the hook arms but don't want black wipers arms.  I could fit different wipers but have long considered Bosch to be the best ones out there.

I bought some Bosch H2 bayonet adaptors on Ebay but they are made to fit a different size of wiper arm and are a loose fit on Mini ones.

Perhaps not quite the direction you are looking to go here, but to put it on the table all the same.

The original Mini Wiper Arms were 5 mm and I think this is what you have. When I ran these wipers, I found them quite flimsy and would twist. The other issue with them is because they are so think / small, the spring tension is only light. Also, 5 mm Arms these days are somewhat obscure.

It sound like the adaptors you have found are for 7 mm Arms. From memory, these are 7 mm Arms and 'bright';-

I did run these on one of my Minis and found them a big improvement over the stock items.

+1 on that. I run these and use Halfords replacement blades when they are worn.

Thanks.  I've seen these arms before and knew they had stronger springs but didn't realize they were thicker and wider than standard arms.  I didn't choose them as I thought the stronger springs would make it harder for the wiper motor to move the wipers and therefore put more strain on the motor.  They may fit the adapters I have so I shall take it under consideration.

I've had them on mine for twelve years/35,000 miles, without any problems with the Halfords R03 Wiper Blade Refill - 16" cut down to suit.

Yes, they will, but I don't feel we're talking even as much as 20% additional load. It is a compromise between effective wipers and wiper drive parts life. I was happer to choose the former.

Were the stainless wiper arms fitted to late seventies/early eighties Minis the flimsy type or the slightly stiffer ones?  I never used to have any problems with them back in the day - with Bosch wipers fitted they worked very well, didn't lift at speed or in high winds and no missed areas.
