Yep don't buy a new one - waste of time - mine, an engineers one was thoughtfully left on the workbench by the previous owners of my house it's ancient and is absolutely indestructable - I'm a great believer in the older the better where quality tools are concerned (without spending a fortune) and regularly (in better times) scout boot sales for non electric old tools - mainly English or W Germany marked.. By way of examples my socket set is a Gordon one and my spanners mainly britool from my grandads army kit of the ealry 50's ...
