Afternoon all. I am in the middle of an engine conversion and am struggling with drive shaft angles. Does anyone have any pictures of there drive shaft angles. My inner joints sit around 3 inches forward of the hub. The drive shafts are going to be short as it is. I cant move the engine back due to the clearance from gearbox to steering rack. I dont really want to give up on my conversion because of this problem.

I havent sorry but youll be ok until you put steering lock on.

If youre very committed, carry on and put lock stops on once you know the max angle the cvs will take.

Is it possible to remove material from the gearbox case or the steering rack so you can move the engine back a little more ?

After much head scratching and measuring. I found a bulge in the gearbox around the diff casing. There was bolts either side of the bulge and it didn't have a sealed surface. Cut it off with the angle grinder and found it to be a dowel locator. Removed a small part on the block where the alternator bracket would of bolted to. Now moves back enough to reduce drive shaft angles.
