That looks like a proper bodge up.

+1. I know impact protection is a moot point on a mini but I'd hate those masters anywhere near my legs in a crash as well as the risk of brake fluid dripping all over (possibly the onto the pedals & causing a crash in the first place).

Aside from that, whats the advantages & are they worth all the effort?

I'd send it back as not fit for purpose.

Alan

Have they made some bracket up that they've welded to the pedal box to mount it?

Sorry send it back. That is not plug and play. Get the KAD set up if you want close to plug and play.

I didn't have an original set up, the car was bought as a bare shell so I could build her how I want.

I also can't send it back as I bought the kit back in July, but due to catching Covid and another health issue, the Mini got tucked away in the corner of the garage and it's only now that I'm trying my hardest to get the motivation back to work on her.

I'm guessing I'm going to have to make a bodge up to get it positioned right and then make up something that will do the job properly. I will get round to updating my build thread over the next few days and then I can keep you updated as I go and you can see what I end up doing

Cheers

Tony

I must admit I was expecting to see the pedal box adapted with the 4 studs on the top allowing it to be bolted straight to the existing M/C points, then a bracket from the base of the box going forward to the steering column mounting point working in tension to stop any rotation. In all honesty i would send it back as its not as listed. If you do go ahead with it the normal M/C sequence in .625 to the front brakes, .700 to the rears and clutch. You might have another problem, im pretty sure to pass an M.O.T you can't have the brake bias working it must be locked off by some permanent means, ie welded up or sheer pin through the threaded adjustment bar, which in all honesty isn't a bad thing as most people use the adjustment wrong to start with. If you want something different from the norm, KAD do a couple of options. Personally I would just use the STD set up pedal box and put what ever brake M/C you want on it.

Mot is not concerned with adjustability,BIVA is.If you like fabrication a good fit is possible,as said cylinder size is important and pedal travel may be limited. If you like tinkering it is not a showstopper.Steve..

I hear you. All is not lost. If the MCs are of the right size you can use parts of that kit. But I would get a used pedal box assy. But sorry there is no way I would use that. And those pics show that the box has been welded in place. And I don’t see how the throttle cable will fit.

also note the installation is not complete. Did the buyer actually finish it?

Funny how that "Classic mini" pedal box is exactly the same as the Citroen C2 one! ... And a lot of their specific fit boxes look like the universal ones they sell ..

What is the advantage of fitting this pedal box over the standard set of pedals?

I don't think there really is a way to do this neatly, trying to get the 3 reservoirs fitted and plumbed into the master cylinders was just a pain. Yes you can fit them internally, but not with the dash I'll be running, then running the brake hoses from inside the car when they should originate outside, was just a PITA
