Hello all,

 

new to all this, hoping you can help, i have 1991 Mayfair and the radio is broken, the current radio is a Philips R570.

 

The 4 speaker cables for the back speakers are easily identifiable, the remaining 4:

 

1/ Black - Ground ?

2/ light green- Ignition power?

3/ red- ?

4/ empty

5/ purple- 12V power ?

6/ empty 

 

if anyone has a wiring diagram or can identify them it would be very helpful.

Positions 1 2 and 5 are described correcrly in your post. I don't see any reference for the red wire.

1. Ground

2. +12V Ignition wire.

3. Dash light dimmer.

4. Power antenna turn on.

5. +12V Battery wire.

Really appreciate the assistance on this all.

The red  Dash light dimmer was the one that was stumping me, I have no where to re-connect this one, the new radio has:

1/ yellow- memory back up B+

2/ Blue - Antenna

3/Red - ignition ACC

4/ Black - Ground

 

Should I just crimp out the Dash light dimmer?
