hi thanks for reply. i will post photo later.but that is exactly as the number reads. i know its very unusual. so far i know its a early a+ pre verto 1098 with tappet covers. colour looks like it was blue. but at some stage it has been painted red. there is no paperwork to go on as it came from a job lot

It's quite an unusual Prefix.

 

I know in some of the Dept of BMC and Leyland they used some funny prefixes and I wonder if it's from one of those ?

I've put a post up in another forum that also has a very broad BMC / Leyland knowledge base.

It appears that at some point, the Engine was reconditioned by Delta Reconditioned Engines and that's a tag they fit.
