Good evening all, I hope you re all well. This afternoon a transporter arrived outside my house with my new Mini, new to me that is. It is a 1968 Innocenti Mini Minor MK 2 of 998 cc. Fortunately she is already converted to RHD but that does mean that the key-lock door is the passenger one, lol. She is not as perfect as first appears, both dor bottoms seem be suffering with varicose veins and the back valance is a bit of a mess. She first appeared on ebay last week for a 24 hour auction. I had been dithering over a souped up blue Mini but when I saw this I changed me mind. I put a bid on that evening of £6.3 K or thereabouts. Next morning before work I upped my bid to £6666.66 and went off knowing that things were now out of my control. I came home that evening expecting to find an outbid notice but I not only won but found I was the only bidder so I got her at start price. I am just awaiting a pram-hood shelter for her as I have no garage. Being yellow my thoughts are wandering to Britax bling, what do you think? Yes or no?............. Stay safe

So go on.... how much did you manage to steal it for?
Was shipping it over easy enough?

Well the cost was £ 6,000 and the Min was already in this country so I didn`t need to do anything. Did I do OK?

I would've thought so - it looks a nice car, and that little bit different.

For me the wheels are a bit blingy and wide and don't suit it - I'd be looking for some nice Firsat rostyles for it.

Nice find a 1968 Innocenti Mini Minor MK 2 is now a rare car, most Innocentis here in the UK are the far more common later 1970's Innocenti Cooper versions. I would keep it as near standard as possible and only do mods that can be reversed in the future. Good price, look after it and the value will only go up.

If parked outside make sure it is well secured from theft even if covered and on a driveway off road. I would suggest a Disklok steering wheel lock as a minimum:-

Foster Charlton of the Mini Cooper Register is an expert on these cars (not just the Cooper variants) and has contacts in Italy for finding some of the more difficult to find parts.

The Innocenti register caters for all variants built between March 1966 and January 1975:-

Many thanks for all your kind words. Personally I like the wheels and how they make the car look. The only mod I have in mind is a stage one kit which of course is just nuts and bolts. I wonder what reg I`ll have when it comes through   ;D

I loved my 1973 Inno Cooper 1300 Export. It was one of the nicest styled and smooth Minis I have ever owned.

When I got mine it had been converted to RHD (not very well), but I converted it back to LHD so that is was as original as possible and I like sitting behind the instrument panel and not have the main instruments on the opposite side of the car.

remember, Innocenti were never allowed to make a RHD Mini under the terms of their licence to manufacture.

Innos are just lovely cars and you have done very well to find this one.

Excellent find! I'd say at 6k you've done very well. The Mk1 and Mk2 Innos are getting very rare indeed. Certainly from the outside it looks very original, with it even retaining the narrow number plate brackets.
