,,,,,, there’s always one screw that will not play ball. Broke the head off.
Oh the Joy,,,,,,,,,
At least it looks like you have all the odd ball Moke bits for it.

Looking very good there mate. The Vapor Blasting does such a nice job.
Not sure if you have replaced the Bushes in the Main Body ?
Also, you may not get the adjustment needed with that Lock Nut on the Reverse Switch, but see how you go.
M-parts have the Rubber Boot that goes over the Shift Shaft, that'd finish it off nicely.

The vapour blasting certainly cleans things up. I haven’t replaced the bushes in the main body as they look ok, and I haven’t figured out how to get them out.
I’ve misplaced the bracket to hold the assembly to the main body, would you have a picture of the bracket?
That nut was sitting on the bench, as you say I will need to get a narrower one to allow for adjustment of the switch. It looks ok but I’m going to sort one.
The rubber boot is on my to buy list.

Working on the wipers. Fitted and tested the wiper motor. It’s noisy but it works. Also fitted the new dash I recently picked up.

Sorry I'm only getting around to this now !
This is the Bracket as bolted up to the Shifter Body (excuse it's state)
Fitted, it should look like
By the sounds of your Wipers, if they are making a racket, then all is well !
I see that you have a UK type column fitted. This might work our for you, however, when I have tried that with that pedal box, the Cowling that goes over the Switches I found runs in to the lower Column Bracket, not by a lot so you might get lucky. In the later Australian Mokes that had this Column, they had a slightly different Pedal Box to accommodate the Column and Cowling;-
For a car that looked the same for about 30 years of production, the number of detailed changes will do your head in !
Nice work Martin, thanks for sharing here.

Chris, thanks for the bracket picture. Can’t for the life of me find mine in the garage at all. I bet it turns up when I get one made up.
The wipers sure are noisy but I’d imagine that will be the least of my problems if I get caught out in a Northern Ireland down pour.
I did buy a new pedal box as mine is slightly bent where it attaches to the bulkhead. Fitted the new one over the weekend but it didn’t look right with the steering column. I’ll try it again this week and see what I did wrong. I have a MK 3 cowl with a single right hand stalk opening and discovered the ignition switch should be lower down the steering column. How does that work and should it lock the steering wheel?

The number of different options and owner modifications is daunting. I’m sure I’ll get there and end up with something that looks like a Moke.

I'm not sure if this might help clear the picture a bit (or make it worse !)
The is the Locking Australian Column that was fitted to Locally made Minis and Mokes from 1971 to 1979;-
Not the best photo, I'm sorry.
The Ignition Switch & Lock as you can see are down near the Column bracket where it bolts up to the Pedal Box, in fact, where it bolts on to the column is just below that Clamp. There was never any cover over these.
The Indicator / Headlight Beam / Horn Switch was I'm pretty sure common to the MKII (?) UK cars. There are 2 versions of these Switches and to get in to rivet counting, the type that was fitted to the Minis and Mokes had no Hi Beam Flash function and the end of the Stalk had a push on Chrome Cap. These have been NLA for many years now.The current replacement is quite similar, but does have a flash function, though an additional wire is needed to make that work.
Over the Switch, you can see the Cowling is quite stumpy and only cover the Indicator Switch.
This Column / Ignition Switch arrangement fits the Pedal Box you current have fitted to your Moke in the pictures in post # 111. I'm pretty sure that the MKIII (?) UK Column, with it's Cowling won't quite fit with this Pedal Box, as the Cowling runs in to the lower Column Bracket / Clamp.
The latest Pedal Box you have posted in # 113 (above) is the right type to suit the UK Column, however that one is missing the bracket that 'supports' the dash tray you can see in the pics of the Box I posted up. While that's missing, you could fit one, but I think it would all work OK without it.

Getting ready to cut down the spare set of high backed seats I picked up. I had hoped to swap these for a set of low backed seats but they are hard to find. Needs must.

So I’ve struck really lucky with my latest work trip and my newest Moke connection. Two low backed seats, thank you John. I won’t have to cut down the two high backed seats now so another Moke owner will benefit.
