Hi. I’m looking for a reliable local Mini specialist; I’m in Maidstone and used to enjoy using Sevenoaks Minis but their website numbers go to nothing. Can anyone help please ?
My car’s a 1964 850 needing work to return to the road after 15 years off it. I also want to create the historic racer look, so suspension mods required etc.

Thanks folks.

Swiftune!  Just down the road from you but you would need deep pockets, they would take your 850 and create a S replica with a nod to their historic racers, which they are calling the Madgwick.  Estimated costs are around £30K but i dont think that includes any bodywork.

KAD (Kent Auto Developments) are down there and do fantastic engine work. Unsure if they take on full restorations though.

I used to know Andy and Shaun at sevenoaks minis about 30 years ago when I was an MCR member. I think they closed about 10 years ago.
I don't think KAD or Swiftune do the sort of work you are after.

Thanks all for your helpful replies and sorry for the very delayed response.

I decided to get the car running & roadworthy, then get it to a specialist for it to be "un-bodged" in the welding department (previous owner).

I'll keep you posted but please, no one hold their breath for longer than 6 months  (o;

Been there in a work capacity; Nick's a great bloke. I asked for an estimated cost for road-going tuned 1275 engine (only) and he said £20k-ish. Lovely set up there though...

Swiftune!  Just down the road from you but you would need deep pockets, they would take your 850 and create a S replica with a nod to their historic racers, which they are calling the Madgwick.  Estimated costs are around £30K but i dont think that includes any bodywork.
