Okay this  ticking, tappety rattly  noise is driving me crazy.  

The engine runs fine and has heaps of power, very smooth and no leaks except for that noise.  

 

Looks like I'm flinging the oil flinger and hopefully that helps.  I was an idiot to put that back in knowing the problem  :shy: 

 

Now I just need a day off, although I reckon I could do it  in a couple of hours if I didn't put all this you beaut gasket goo every where ;-)

Brad,

 

As I posted in my last, I'm reasonably sure you can fling the slinger, but clearly, something's skewif here for the chain to be contacting the Slinger like that. I get this is pushing your buttons, but I think loosing the slinger is only masking an underlying issue that may well come back to bite harder.

 

Maybe for now, park it up for a week, put it out of your mind for now and come back to you when your in a better frame of mind over it.
