hi, what do people use as coolant in the r1 mini please?

 

I bought a couple of bottles of motul motocool but this is going to be an expensive way to do it looking at the overall capacity. Worried about engine aluminium corroding if I use the wrong one?

Is the a Mini with a R1 bike engine in it or a BMW MINI.

 

If the latter I would try a different forum as this is one for the Mini. But there are a few owners that have MINIs so you may get an answer.

I'd probably go with whatever Yamaha recommend for the R1. Regardless, general rule of thumb is to use an IAT for cast iron blocks & yellow metals. OAT coolants for alloys.
