What are people’s opinions on pressed metal plates on a 1999 mpi sport pack mini? Do you think it would look right or do you think a mpi mini is too modern??

If so where is the best place to buy a set of pressed plates?

Dinner Plates, Tea plates, foot plates, chassis plates, number plates?

Apologies I meant to say number plates to replace my plastic ones.
I was looking at reflective ones so it’s road legal

Pressed plates are put on so many cars, classic and modern. I don't think they look out of place on a Mini at all.

 

But who cares what I think. It is your car, if you like them go for it!

Metal plates are great for under the front bumper - if you hit them on something they bend instead of shatter.  They also don't delaminate like plastic ones do.

+1 for pressed plates, or if you're going for a slightly more retro look, aluminium plates with the older style riveted letters look really nice.

I've fitted pressed plates to my '98 and they look great. I retained the front plastic plate as a support behind the pressed plate because I'm fearful the pressed plate will be too easily bent.

I'd also recommend Chestnut Registrations, I bought mine from there.

At least you can bend them back though.  Plastic plates are not suitable for under the front bumper.
