Later cars had the vin stamped in the gutter behind the bonnet. Along the front edge of the scuttle assuming it still has one.

There’s just the plate as it’s mini based and doesn’t have a steel shell as such

Just fill the form in with the vin numbers you can read and make a note that the last numbers can not be read.  If it has been correctly registered before they should have the correct info.

Phone your local motor factors and ask for last 6 vin numbers from your reg plate number,
I do this on some odd mots ✌

As said you need a friendly car dealer who has access to Experian AutoCheck or similar.......there are usually some TMF members in trade who can help or on Mk1 Forum.

Thank you, yes I think that’s the kind of thing I need
I don’t want to wait 10-12 weeks to be told I’m a couple digits missing on my application (yes been told it may be three months before it gets resolved due to staff shortages)

Yes the car is live, The number is a non standard format due to it only being “mini based“ and that’s what’s causing an issue I think?

Ok, I’m not sure, I just assumed whatever is on the database would show up, regardless of the format. As said above just write a letter explaning.
