Do you join the crossmember carpet to the front floor piece where they meet just behind the gearstick?
I get you now.
No, I didn't see a need to. They fit nicely together as the are.
Cheers.

Well the 998 didn't last very long and an appetite for something faster grew with the owner so at the end if last year, it came back into me to remove the 998 and send it to Bill Richards so he could liberate the gearbox and ancillaries to use on a new 1275 engine bored out to 1293 with a mild cam.
Well some months later now and Bill came by today with the new engine and also the car as he had borrowed it from the owner to mock up another engine into for another project.
It won't be going in straight away as I have a bit too much on but at least it's here ready.
I'll update again once I drop it in.
Cheers

I think the owner has made an excellent choice using Bill Richard, the 1293 engine he built for my GT is superb

On with the bootlid.
I have finished repairing the various dents and applied some epoxy primer.
Next up,I drilled the holes to mount the new badges
Then the buffers for the number plate frame
I also added a hole for the wiring loom
Next the hinges for the number plate frame using rivnuts
And that completes the modification
Looks great on the car
It's not legal to drive with the bootlid open but the hinged number plate is a nice touch.

I don't think it is illegal as long as your load doesn't stick out more than 3 feet and is properly secured. Lights need to be visible etc

Had a few hours yesterday waiting waiting paint to dry kn another project so I thought I'd drop the new engine in
And once everything was plumbed in, we are ready to go
Just been on road test and as expected, its absolutely brilliant so a massive thanks to Bill Richards for another fantastic engine.
It really is the perfect finishing touch to this restoration.
Whilst it was here, I raised the rear suspension as it was rubbing with passengers in the back
And some good green tint quarter glasses were found so I installed those as the ones fitted during rhe resto were odd and not in perfect condition.

How does it go compared to mine Ben?
Very much on par.
It's very revvy thanks to the lightened flywheel and feels like it will go and go and go.
It is great fun
Cheers.

Going to get mine RR tuned now. It was on one a year ago to do the initial set-up but I want a full power tune done now.

Ah I thought I had recognised it from somewhere when I saw it, which sparked my search on here.
