Great stuff as ever Ben, just read all of this and it's wonderful to see the transformation. I wish mine was coming together like this one is!

I've now got the last of the body prep done

XsjOULD.jpg

But before I paint it, I wanted to paint the inaodes of the boot lid and bonnet.

ACm4vSh.jpg

I also did all the hinges too.

Once that was done, I masked up the body

And then painted it

And then unmasked

Ready to continue the rebuild next week.

Cheers

Some bits are starting to go back on now.

The new de-luxe side trims were first

And then on with some front end brightwork

IOQVZEm.jpg

I made up new wiring for the new glass indicators too.

Rear end bits on

I've started fitting wiring and going through the looms making repairs and replacing connectors.

All takes time but things will pick up once those fiddly bits are done.

Cheers.

Ben

Hi Ben

Where did you get the delux trim from? It's much better than the one recently fitted on mine. Ta

More bits going on.

I started off by running the front to rear loom. However the bullet connectors that link the looms were all dirty, corroded and some had come off so I chopped back and soldered on all new bullets along with new tube connectors.

I wired up the rear lamps and then fitted the fuel tanks

1lVvkA0.jpg

And then plumbed in the tanks

pIapPuj.jpg

Not forgetting the breathers

Eh2nLOE.jpg

And then on with the boot lid.

qMDilUm.jpg

And then once I made up a new wiring harness for the number plate lamp, I tested it

fAknsa0.jpg

All good.

Next I assembled the steering column.

I have used a new column and a new ignition barrel as well as all new sheer bolts

ZRhQuq4.jpg

That wheel isn't staying but a replacement hasn't been chosen yet.

Cheers
