Is it just me or does anyone else like the colour of the shell in primer ??

Maybe a rub down and layer of lacquer on that then Ben ??

You aren't the first person to say that!

What are the larger holes that will be under the moustache for Ben?

That, I don't actually know.
There were 2 red caps in them on the old panel so I imagine they were used perhaps up until a certain year and then blanked off.

Cheers

Lol I thought that the other night I quite like that colour that’s on it at the moment

Looking excellent Ben, did you have to space the moustache fixing screws away from the front panel.

No.
For the mock up, I used screws on the clips instead of the rivets.
Admittedly they are a very tight fit and each one took me 10 minutes of sweating and swearing to get them to clip on bit once they were, they were difficult to remove again which is great

Nothing too exciting going on right now.

I have started the prep of the exterior panels which involves flatting the primer back.

First off, a guide coat is applied

And then it is flatted back. The guide coat shows up all the imperfections in the body and the idea is that if the imperfections are minor, you keep flatting until they blend in.

Once done, I like to mist the panels with panel wipe to give them a shine. Then you can see a lot better how straight the panels are

And the front is done

I have also done down one side.

And that's the other side done too.

Always love looking at you work and love you always do it properly. In regards to my previous question, I meant the grill surround not the whiskers but that did answer another question. The guide coating and blocking the epoxy primer is exactly how I did my golf and it amazed me how many imperfections I found that I couldn't feel with my hand.

Is that a durablock I see. Best blocks I've ever invested in.

Cheers!

The frame is ok but I did need a spacer on the bottom each side.

And yes, durablock. They are really good.

After spraying up a test panel, we now have a final decision on the colour

Great choice. Is that Island Blue?
