A bit of an update.

After spending some time on the mini today I’ve got things operating much better. I’ve managed to get the car idling at 1350rpm and not stalling when the clutch is pressed, it only drops by about 200rpm now. A combo of resetting the clutch knocking back the advance a little seems to have done the trick to stop the stalling. Certainly after 50 miles the new clutch has bedded in and given more adjustment than on initial install. Looks like the issue was down to a combination of a few different factors.
