Got round to looking into the exhaust blow before it got any worse.
Was nice an easy to spot where it was coming from.. interesting!
took the manifold off as was also blowing from the head
small hole that I welded up. Will be replacing the manifold eventually so just wanted to patch it up for now
gasket had also failed. the lower manifold steady bracket wasn’t attached so the head join was taking all the strain.
Whilst the exhaust and carb was off i had a look in the head and had a nice surprise in finding it had has some porting work done at some point.
So got the exhaust all bolted back up and thought i’d change the rocker cover. Another nice find was double valve springs. I suspect it has an uprated cam too judging by how the engine goes but will see when i take the engine out
I also managed to pick up some correct wheels with the holes in line with the spokes as fitted to the 30 and RSP. Need to give them a paint but all good and straight with decent tyres. The wheels currently on the car are incorrect as they’re the more ‘regular’ style with holes between spokes, except for the drivers front wheel weirdly!
