While you're in there, measure the voltage drop between the alternator and the headlights. If it's more than half a Volt, you're leaving free light on the table. If so, you'll see a significant boost in output by installing relays for a few quid, and that boost will carry on when you install the new lights.

I have Bosch headlights in my 'S' with 100/80 halogen bulbs. Don't know if the Bosch ones are still available though.
Edited to add:
Looks like they do

When I did the Mongol Rally with my mini last year my headlights were awful for the first couple of days. This was because of the weight on board and the way the car sat. It took a few attempts but we were able to adjust them so they lit up the road well enough without blinding oncoming traffic.
My head lights are standard sealed beams.

I have the Cibies and they are very good headlights although I believe they are no longer available.
Beware of some of the cheap ones. My van came with a pair of "Neolites" and on one of them (strangely the other was fine) the lugs which locate the lamp into position on the surround were incorrectly positioned which twisted the lamp and made the dipped beam pattern kick up to the right instead of being horizontal.

I once had a pair of Autopal headlights with 100/80 halogen bulbs and they were excellent.
I have 2 sets of these, one car has osram nightbreaker bulbs, a good setup over standard

They're fitted with equally old 100/140 watt bulbs. Masses of even light output on dipped and superb range on main beam but the light colour is a bit yellow compared with modern night breakers but the night breakers don't come close on light output.

I also used to have Lucas H4 headlamps years ago. They too were very good. Anyone know if they're still available?
Regarding Cibie, they fell under the Valeo umbrella so maybe they are branded Valeo now? You'd think there'd still be a market for them, seven inch headlamps were fitted to so many vehicles.

I gave the Valeo part number earlier in the thread. They’re still NLA.

Aren't these just standard 7" rounds or is there more to it? Hella sells great E-Code H4s, anything that fits a Jeep Wrangler, lots of modern (but expensive) proper LED projectors, etc...

Look at the difference just of parking light beam:
Left Wipacs halogen
Right Cibie LED
Now when Hi-los are on, it's super bright, better than my modern mazda 3

no finger wagging as i have a Cyclops LED om my motorbike, but have a quick think about too much light with LEDs.
The brighter the light close to the car, the shorter you see. Your pupils close up and there becomes a cut off and dark becomes very dark / black. Also your eys are drawn down. This means at speed you might hit something at the same time you see it! this is often a problem with LED. Good lights go far without too much light cose up.
There are good Led lights out there, but too many crappy ones.
The there is the case of blinding oncoming cars....
