Question for you from a noob ... is the MG Metro inlet manifold the same as the Mini Cooper one CAM6618?

Reason I ask is that I need to reduce space converting to HIF44 setup in my 1380 in a 1982 mini so it’s right. From research the MG metro manifold seems smaller (slightly) than an aftermarket version. Found a CAM6618 but unsure if it’s the same / would fit ?

Are you sure the CAM6618 is not the Metro inlet? I would have to check, but I think Vizard lists it that way in his book.

This compares the CAM6618 to the MiniSpares inlet.

So the CAM6618 is 4-6 mm shorter, but slightly different angle.

Thank you for the photo - that few mm will make the difference enabling my setup to fit. Question is the CSM6618 is the MG Metro inlet then I'm good to go :) Looks the same from the photo's but I'm unsure as to if there would be any difference between a stock Metro and the MG Metro manifold and I assume the interchanged parts which would be fitted to the Cooper from 90-91 which I think was the last carb version made.  Which this seems to be listed for also..

Great posting tmsmini.

I've dug out the Metro Parts book and the CAM6618 is the original MG Metro Inlet Manifold.

Yeah it’s a great inlet slightly smaller and has a vacuum take off. I have one for my turbo 998 build but have been running it n/a for some time now and makes clearance much easier compared to the aftermarket inlets only downside is the flange on the back is narrower than my aftermarket exhaust so had to make a little set of spacers.

You will probably see that I mean
