Mine never had that annoying bolt in in someone had already changed it so i was lucky :o So you think i should tighten the four bolts up as much as i can or should i keep them a bit lost, by the way When i get this wrench how much torque should i do the bolt up to.

torque figures are in the HBOL. if you dont have one it is a very good idea to get one.

as for a torque wrench halfrauds are quite expensive for a fairly basic one. why not get a cheap machine mart one for 15 quid? just aas good a quality. was a test in mini mag last month or so and they said it was more than good enough

go on ebay too, some good brand ones but then again you have no idea how they have been treated during their lives.

Ok i got the torque wrench and tightened the bolts to 11lbs but then i went on a drive the steering wheel was slightly out of line so when i went straight instead of the wheen being in its normal position it was slightly twisted round like in the pic below!!!!!

Could this have happened when i loosened the four bolts off on the floor then i might of turned the wheel a bit and tightened the bolts up again and in doing this made the steering wheel out of line.

(sorry about the poor picture)

Tom, please use punctuation in your posts, it makes it so much easier for us work out what's a question, what's a sentence, and what's a statement!!!... you only use one full stop in the whole of that post! :P

don't make me come over there and make you sorry lol :genius:

Sorry. I typed the post in fast as i thought that it might be a big proble. But since i dont have a responce about the problem i guess it isnt a bad thing.

Should i undo the bolts on the floor and put the wheel straight and see if that fixes it? or what should i do?

Sorry "Retro 10s"

I was only "having a laugh" mate It wasn't a rant! :genius:

Now, more importantly, do you mean the wheel itself isn't central as in you need to turn the wheel to go in a straight line etc, or do you mean the wheel is not central to you i.e. in your lap,.. so you arms are moved slightly sideways to get to the wheel?

*** edit ** sorry, have just looked at pic,..... undo your steering wheel and align it so that it's straight, if this solves it, cool, if not, problem!

just make sure you got a big enought socket. and loosen the nut but leave it on when removing the steering wheel. or you get a smash in the face.
