1. Undo two bolts in the drivers side footwell (i don’t know where these are but i guess they will be easy to find, also how far do i take these bolt out, do i completly remove them)
2. Undo two bolts in the passenger side footwell (i also don’t know where these are and how far to take them out)
3. Once all four bolts are un-done do i then have to remove the annoying bolt thing on the original steering column bracket.
4. Then do i add the drop down bracket, like this
5. Then do adjust the wheel to the right height and tighten the drop bracket.
6. Then to i tighten the four bolts on the floor (Do i do these as tight as i can or just a bit tight)
Can some one just check this and make sure that its all right.
Thank you

1, you have to loosen the steering rack. theres U-clamp with the botls inside the car. should be about 2inches away from each other. the bolts.
2, same as above
3, yep. careful as it might sheer or sheered already. if it's sherared already then much hassel awaits you. if not your fine. give it a little WD40 and strat taking it off.
4,yep.
5, adjust it how you want. sit in the seat (spanner in hand) and get it night, then tweak it up get in and out the car see that its comfy.
6, you "should" torque the bolts up.

"Also when you say i should torque the bolts up what does this mean?"
you torque a bolt to a specifc tightness. in foot pounds or newtons or force. if you have a haynes manual at the start of each chapter there is a load of info in gaps and torque setting.
it's to stop things cracking or coming off. for exsample on the head studs when you change the head there are i belive 2 torque settings. you go rount till you do one torque then up the torque for the next time round....if that makes any sence.
just use a torque wrench. if you plan on doing more car work then their a good inverstment,. i plan to get one soon.

also when you get to doing more on a car a torque wrench will (hopeful) stop you doing bolts up too tight and stripping them or snapping studs.

and dont forget, when you get the torque rench, dont leave it wound up for any lenght of time, other wise the spring wil wear out!
Dave

im tryin to remove my steering colum, and that GAY bolt thing, is seriously anoying. (later type, stupid smooth type thing)
How did you get it off?
in that picture it looks like the guys ground it off? did they then just use molegrips on the thread, as all the tention was now released from the bolt?
