Hi Everyone,
I today gave all the parts and the housing of my first gearbox a last clean and found this 
Luckily I have a spare casing but then this will require a clean and paint again ..

You're right.
Firstly, I will check twice before investing any work hours on parts.
Secondly, please people do not through parts away only because you can't reuse / repair them. There is always someone out there who can.
