Nice work, did you put a couple of covers over the 2 unused connections? Even the original plug would of fitted on

I used a 3R3 aluminum clad resistor but forget the power rating (it was a few years ago), probably a 25W.

I filed the underside into a curve to match the inside radius of the fan housing and it has been working fine. This is for the old METAL heater units.

How many ohms is this aluminum clad on this link in 25W (probably)?

A 3.9 ohm, 5 watt resistor will do it.

 

SolarB used a 3.3 ohm, but I suspect that may run the fan a little fast on low speed.

Doesn't have to be metal clad, the ceramic ones are easy to come by and quite cheap.

Hey Tim !  No but wouldn't hurt. It will get warm / hot in use (only on low speed) so taking it away inside one of the ducts does keep it out of harms way.
