Changed to NGK plugs when I serviced the engine a few months ago, no problems at all.

Hello! For me, in my 1275cc classic Mini, the best are; NGK BP6ES, and I've tested Champion, Bosch and Beru.

Regards, Luis

I've always been an NGK guy, and pretty much any Mini will be happy with a set of BP6ES (or resistor version for injected/ecu models).

One of my friends used to have a Mini specialist garage, and any set of NGK's he received from the factors in a service kit would always without fail have a dead plug - any of the other brands (Bosch, Beru, Champion etc) would work fine, he only ever received dead NGK's.  Weird.

Phil.

I've run NGK BPR6ES or BP6ES with resistor leads.

I too have had dead NGK plugs from the factors, on more than just minis so I now keep a box for good, old plugs simply to keep the car going until I get a replacement plug (usually the same day, once I've had to wait for next day).

Its annoying but its out with the control of the factors, although the sales team at my local outlet are great and dont charge for replacement plugs as a goodwill gesture.

Bosch Super 4 WR78 in my ‘98 MPi have performed faultlessly for me.

Be careful of counterfeit spark plugs folks, I've just viewed a video and its comparing counterfeit (Amazon.com sourced) plugs with the genuine items from Advanced Auto Parts.

I've probably fitted thousands of NGK plugs to a huge variety of cars in my mechanic-ing days and never had any problems with them.
