Hi Guys and Girls,

Dave here from way too sunny Queensland in Australia.

I have to confess i don't own a Mini but i do have a couple of Leyland Moke's, one is a 1977 BRG 1275 with way too much money invested in it.  Is invested the right word? my wife calls it a money pit.

The second one is a 1980 galvanised bodied version that has been sitting in a back shed for 22 years, this car is now stripped to a bare shell ready for rebuilding.

I have had the green Moke for 2 years and in that time i have learnt quite a lot about what not to do.  Learning all the time though, actually i'm pretty happy with how it is now.  I just got back from a trip down to Melbourne in Victoria and back, total distance 3675 klm's and it didn't miss a beat.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

I hope you don't mind me moving your thread here - we have a Moke section, just for us :proud:

Nice Moke !

I think we are always learning, I've been at it for a few years now and still picking up new things.

Great to see you like 'Road Trips' - there's a few of us here who do regular 'runs', but not always on the blacktop. Happy to hear about your adventures sometime :shades:

Cheers,

Chris

Spot on Magneto, they are indeed MX5 seats, the leather ones with speakers in the head rest, kind of a waste really, i don't have a radio, lol.

Hi Moke Spider, when you say a few of you that do regular runs is that with Terry and Mazy etc from the Aussie moke forum?  I have Tamworth pencilled in for next year and i really want to go to  Jervis Bay but work keeps getting in my way.

Thanks Guys
