The "usual" way of describing shock settings is from full soft (fully anti-clockwise) as the starting position ... so yes 6 clicks will be 6 clicks clockwise from full soft. It doesn't matter which way round your shocks are or even if they're upside down, as in some installations. Nitrons and Ohlins have the adjuster around the shock but it's the same terminology, fully anti-clockwise is soft and that's the starting points to count the clicks.
