I'm having a similar issue, not ovalled yet but metal shavings from the wheels on the stud and a thread pattern on the wheel stud holes. Did you find out what caused your issue?
I've had it with my Estate where I couldn't hold the wheel at 60mph, the stud holes were ovalled on the wheelsI had vibrastion at speed, turned out to be a bad alloy.
Ovalled wheel stud holes on the wheels, then the steering rack had play on the internal components

Many moons ago I had a vibration through the steering wheel and could not find why.
It turned out one of the steering arms had worked loose from the hub ? To this day I have no idea how. Needed a new hub though as the threads were knack'd
