No More Payen Head Gaskets?

Have Payen gone out of business or stopped making their composite head gaskets as I can’t seem to find any online?!
A couple of websites have Payen copper ones but it seems the composite ones have gone
I don’t actually need to replace mine but am trying to build a little cupboard of spare bits and bobs so when things do fail I don’t have to keep ordering and waiting!

Here in Germany no problem with BK450, just ordered two of them with a general car part dealer online.

Might be a stupid question.. but would this fit a 998?

They're 1275 bore.
The small bore composite one may now be NLA - Payen do a good copper one though:

Minispares list the small bore composite gasket but it's been showing as out of stock for ages. http://www.minispare...HG.aspx|Back to
The copper small bore Payen one is showing as out of stock too at the moment but they've had them until recently so hopefully they'll be available again soon.
They also have limited stock of the cheapo copper one they sell. What's going on Minispares?

Also out of stock
From my reading up on here it seems copper is better for freshly skimmed engines but composite is a tad more forgiving on a standard replacement

Ive had same problem, struggling to get hold of 998 head gaskets. Managed to find a nos payen copper one locally in the end.
Ive had head gasket issues on a 998 recently, replaced with a new (MS cheap) copper gasket but that didnt resolve the problems. Now that Ie had the head skimmed this reveled it was badly warped.

(I knew I'd seen somewhere listing them)
Are the copper ones as good for a standard replacement as the composite ones?
Old threads seem to suggest that people think copper is best but only if you have a freshly skimmed head and that the composite ones are better for standard replacement on a daily

FAI are the manufacturer ECP stock of the composite ones.

Copper ones are good BUT only if the decks of the block and head are absolutely perfect. Usually, this will only be when they come back from the machine shop, though one can get luck.
For replacing a gasket, one would be best off in most instances with a Composite Gasket.
I don't believe Payen have gone out of business, but slimming down their range. We have a local guy who worked for Payen / ACL Gaskets who started his own firm and is making Gaskets to the same specs (or so I'm told).

I haven't yet bought from them and I get the impression that they are all to order (ie, they hold no stock).

Check Euro car parts... I managed to get a few composite ones for one of the 998s... you may have to play with registrations as my 85 didnt come up but my 88 did (come up with the HG...)

I did see the ECP ones but wrote them off because they are less than £5?!
Either a massive bargain vs the Payen ones or as good as a bit of cardboard with some holes in..
