Hey folks, We'll my exhaust has started blowing now and I kinda come to the complusion of rather than just fixing it, why not get a new exhaust and manifold to increase it's performance!

So what system do you think I should go for?

Full Maniflow, single side exit, link pipe (no cat)

Let her breath dude..... ;D

Maniflow exhausts fit like a glove and work as they should.

Mr 'Dude'... you can't just take off the cat, it's needed for MOT.

A Maniflow replacement with Cat will more than likely still breathe more than std replacment.

The ecu will also have a spastic attack wondering why the hell exhaust is escaping so fast.

Best thing I've seen is a play mini twin exit (both sides) with single back box. If you get a maniflow lcb and knuckle joint, even better.

Knuckle joint; pain in the arse!

Play mini cat link big bore pipe x 2, single box SIDE exit big bore scilencer and the correct INJECTION LCB. Needs some adjustment but is a good sound, not too loud

Forget all this fancey shmancey sh!t, its all show and no go.

Or you can do what Im doing come next MOT - Playmini bigbore LCB to back box link pipe and splice in a Jetex competition Cat. At £200 for the cat, its not something id expect a lot to do, but i want to retain the cat, but still be able to use it when i turbo the car on 16valves. The standard item is just so inadequate for that. LOL

I would go for the injection lcb, and the rc40 (single or twin box, depending on if you want noisy or quiet), keeping the cat. There is not a lot of point removing it as the cats on the injection models are very efficient and non restrictive. I remember miniworld doing a tech feature where two mpi's were modified with various engine upgrades, and tested on the dyno at each step. removal of the cat gave 1bhp on a 90bhp engine(i think). Its the late carburretor models that have a restrictive cat. ;D

Perhaps, but at least they dont wear out even half as fast as a mesh flex joint.

the mpi manifolds aren't that bad unless you want every bit of bhp you can get i would fit a RC40 cat back system

singe box if you want some noise or twin box if you want a quiet exhaust ;D

Take it off and solid fix the exhaust like it used to be. Those rubber hangers are another waste of space. Thats the main reason the knuckle joint is there, because the exhaust moves so much on those rubber hangers.

Surely it's possible to get a new flexi joint without having to replace everything?
