Looks great.

Can I ask what tool you used to get the curved clutch/brake lines such a tight radius ?

Thanks

I tend to clamp a socket in a vice and simply bend it around it by hand, no fancy tools needed as long as the radius isn't too tight and you take your time.

Thanks for that.

I've got a pipe bending tool but can seem to get the tight radius.

I was thinking of other ways and thought bendjnd around a socket might work....

So that confirms it

Many thanks
Neil

Yes, that's what I use....but find it's limited at getting a tight radius

pickup continues to take a back seat at the moment, and looks set to continue that way for a little while unfortunately

i did however do something i've never needed to do before and give the K&N filter a clean and re-oil; strangely satisfying to see it change from grey/brown, to white and then back to red  :proud:

I was planning on trimming the doors myself and making up some custom door bins but decided that would just take too long, so ordered a set of door trim from Optimise;  went for the monte-carlo sytle with a dark grey stitch detail, and wasn't disappointed

..the only disappointing thing about fitting the door cards (..apart from no fitting instructions; fortunately NewtonCommercial website does have them), is that the wrestling the door cards in resulted in both door slipping on their fixings, so the cards will have to come out again, and the doors repositioned.

When i refit i'll make sure I brace the doors off the floor to stop them moving again

was also having issues clamping the fresh air hose to the bulkhead fitting i'd made up, as i couldn't get the clamps to fasten up enough, so used some self adhesive shrink wrap on the wire clamp to get it to grip the hose.  simple but effective solution

also fitted the radyot door mirrors

..but didn't really like the look of them so changed something a bit different, which i think  suit the car better

..packed out the void with JBweld - hopefully that will keep the grease in the grease tube !

..which meant that i could finally get on and fit these - the reason why I stripped the radius arms in the first place !!

What are these parts for?

Also, where did you go for the aqua blasting?

They're the grease tubes for the radius arms; but (earlier?) OEM steel ones rather than the typical/aftermarket plastic ones which can split when grease is pumped in to the arms

blasting was done at Stotfold Engineering in Biggleswade

Thanks.

I'm worried about over zealous blasting, was there much debris in the gearbox casing afterwards?

Are the bearing surfaces ok?

Not a significant amount of debris, but as with anything that's being fitted it needs thoroughly cleaning whether it's new, or reconditioned.

With the casing, most of the debris was in the blind drillings for the diff and transfer case studs/bolts

Bearing surfaces were ok; a little bit of marking to the diff bearing journals, but pretty light. If I was to do it again I might mask them off with gaffer tape for emphasis

The aqua blasting media used was quite hard, so left the surface with a matte finish. Softer media can be used like walnut shell, which is obviously less abrasive and leaves a smoother surface, but takes longer, so costs more

I also have Optimise trim, did you have trouble trying to get the fillet panels in under the door latch and the drain tube? It looks like I may have to cut a bit out of the fillet to miss the drain tube.

I also have bullet type mirrors I intend to fit onto the window

I didn't have any issues fitting the fillets - I tucked the drain tubes into the channel that runs down the back of the door to keep it out of the way
