very happy with the quality of the carpet; better than most of the carpet in the house (..not that i'll be telling my wife that )
might have to ask people to take their shoes off before they come in

chipping away at it slowly; steering column in, seatbelts fitted, gear lever gaiter in and door seals fitted. some work required to get the doors to sit flush now though

Ye ms I put the seals in mine and it holds out at the bottom. Seems to he worst on the a panel. Is yours the same
mines sounds pretty much the same - very tight along the front and bottom. without any seal in place there's a reasonable gap around the window frame, but quite tight everywhere else. my concern is if i switch to a thinner type of door seal it'll be loose around the top half of the door, so i think i'll probably take the doors off and knock back the lip a bit with a block or wood and hammer

And where did you get the seat bars on the floor?
i made them out of steel bar - details are a few pages back

seats back in
a rummage through the fasteners bucket turned up a set of short hi-lok bolts perfect for the seat front mounts
which meant the seats could be fitted
cleaned up and reinstalled the crank in the block so i can recheck all the piston deck heights - just waiting for a piston installer before i can start that job

Looks awesome. I started doing some seat bracketry today and scratched the door. I nearly cried

a few minor bits and pieces done
adapted the adaptor plate on the engine stand to accept the block - despite what my eyes tell me i still can't quite believe two bolts will hold the engine
i've been mulling over how to mount the instrument cluster i made for quite a while; the initial thought was that it would sit beside the centre binnacle, but it was going to be a bit of a squeeze, then had a brainwave, so out came the last of my 2mm aluminium sheet to make a bracket
..to fit above the steering column clamp
..which i could then mount the cluster to

This is just so interesting. Some great ideas and a real motivating thread
thanks. I'm glad you find it interesting - there's still plenty to do yet, and a few more customisations on the cards so hopefully it'll provide some entertainment for a while yet

initial build of the rear brake system included an MS72 adjustable regulator as i've done away with the bulkhead mounted FAM7821. if i'd have done my research first i'd have known that's not strictly road legal (...unless, apparently, i weld it up after setting it...).
So, the next best option i figured was to fit the inertia type valve instead which should allow me some scope for adjustment by altering the angle it's mounted at. hopefully
to complicate matters, the inertia valve fittings are for single flare on the pipes and main pipe run to the rear terminates in a double-flare; so this meant investing in a pipe flaring tool and some cunifer pipe so i could re-do the flare in the main feed and make up the links to the flexi's. still; all's well that ends well...
also, now that i have a solution for fitting the instrument cluster, i figured i should start making some sense of the wiring loom it's going to require. Cue graph paper, pencil, lots of rubbing out and copious amounts of tea.
